The Troggs were a British rock band active in the 1960s. They were best known for their hit "Wild Thing", which was released in 1966 and became a major hit in both the United Kingdom and the United States. The Troggs were considered one of the pioneers of gritty garage rock and were an influential band of the time.
The original line-up of the Troggs consisted of singer Reg Presley, guitarist Chris Britton, bassist Pete Staples and drummer Ronnie Bond. They were known for their rough sound and simple, catchy songs. In addition to "Wild Thing", they also achieved success with songs such as "With a Girl Like You" and "Love Is All Around".
Although the Troggs were less successful in the 1970s, they had a lasting influence on rock music. Their songs were covered by countless artists, and "Wild Thing" became an anthem for the garage rock and punk movements.
